Bob Sherman started the business in New Jersey in 1970, and expanded to Vermont in 1978, taking advantage of an excellent labor market, attractive and affordable real estate, and assistance from Vermont’s Industrial Development Authority. Our Bergen County, New Jersey location is still used as a local sales office for the Tri-State area as well as a truck terminal, installer’s home base, and woodworking shop, but most of our products are manufactured in central Vermont. We have many employees that have started at entry-level positions at the company, and have grown in their career as VSF grows, making it a secure, safe, and fun place to work.
